Leadership Communication

Dear Families,

As we wrapped up the last day of term, it was wonderful to see the children filled with excitement as they proudly dressed up to represent their favourite sports teams. From soccer jerseys to cricket caps, basketball tops to rugby shirts, students came together in a colourful display of team spirit that truly captured the essence of unity and diversity.

This day was about more than just fun dress-up. It was a reminder of how important sports are in connecting us all. Team sports, whether played on the school field or watched from the sidelines, teach our children valuable life lessons about teamwork, turn-taking, and respect for others. They offer the chance to learn about different cultures and bring people together, no matter where they come from.

Sports also play a key role in helping our children feel a sense of belonging. Being part of a team or supporting a favourite club gives them a shared interest with others, which is so important for their emotional wellbeing. The friendships formed through these shared experiences can last a lifetime, helping children feel more connected to their peers and to the school community.

As we head into the break, let’s celebrate not only the sports our children love but also the spirit of togetherness they bring. We are proud of how our students embraced the fun, dressed up with pride, and demonstrated that team spirit is about working together and supporting each other—on and off the field.

The staff of St Thomas wish you all a restful and enjoyable break, and we look forward to more exciting moments of learning, growth, and teamwork next term!

See you all on Monday 7th October.
