Step Up interviews

The College Step Up Parent/Carer-Tutor Teacher re-enrolment interviews for Year’s 11 and 12 student’s (2025) will be held on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th November and you will be able to book a 30 minute interview to facilitate this (a letter has been provided outlining the details).

There will be no formal classes for the Year 11 and 12 students (2025) over the two days to facilitate the interviews.

The purpose of this meeting is for parents/carers to meet tutor teachers and discuss important information for the following school year. Please note that this is a requirement for all students for re-enrolment for 2025.   Students will then commence their 2025 Step Up timetable from the 18th of November until the 29th November (timetables will be distributed at the interview).

Year 12 farewell

On Friday the 25th of October, we celebrated the achievements of our Year 12 student’s and wished them farewell at the Valedictory dinner. On the night, we celebrated with families and friends, the many achievements of the class of 2024 and students were acknowledged for their academic achievement and presented with subject and excellence awards.

The night was a huge success and I would like to thank Mr. Ashlin Brown and the Year 12 team for the successful organisation of the night; along with the Year 12 teachers who contributed to the educational growth of the students to enable them to successfully complete Year 12.

I would like to thank the Year 12 students for their exemplary behaviour leading up to their celebration day, farewell assembly and the Valedictory dinner. Our students demonstrated the College values of Respect, Cooperation and Excellence all throughout this time by focusing on their education.

I wish the Class of 2024 all the very best wishes for their future studies and/or employment and if we can be of any assistance then please do not hesitate to contact the College.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 10

As our Class of 2026 finishes their journey through Year 10, we held a wellbeing afternoon to relax and share the passions of our different tutor groups. We had a picnic with tutor classes organising something to share on the day. Later in the day students joined in on activities like karaoke, biscuit decorating, flower making, a photo booth, bingo, basketball and much more! Congratulations to all our student leaders and to our tutor teachers for helping to make the afternoon successful.

In the last few weeks, the HAPE department have partnered with our school nurse program to deliver CPR training to Year 10's. Students learned DRABCD and basic CPR techniques. These lifesaving skills will hopefully never be used, but our Year 10's will know what to do if someone needs their help!

Our students have now finished their final assessment tasks and will start sitting their exams on Friday 8th of November. Students are aware of our high expectations for conduct during the exams and support they can ask for if they need it. Exams are a chance to put together all the things they have learned, and it is important that they attend and put effort into each exam.

The Year 10 team has also supported students with a program run by Elevate on study tips ahead of exams and VCE. Students came away with many good habits they can practice to get the most out of their study.

On a related note, students have also completed PAT Testing on their reading and mathematics, showing good growth over the year. It is a credit to our Year 10 students for the effort they have put in this year, supported by our teachers.

This will be our last update before our Class of 2026 transitions to Year 11. Please remember to make a time to speak to your student’s new tutor teacher for 2025, by completing the form sent home or contacting the school.

On behalf of the current Year 10 team, I’d like to thank families for their support for the program and their children. We look forward to working with our Year 11 team to help our Class of 2026 grow stronger and achieve fantastic results.

Progress to Year 12

To advance to Year 12, students must pass at least 9 out of 12 units in Year 11 (Units 1 & 2), including a compulsory pass in Units 1 & 2 English. For students who do not meet these minimum requirements, the school team will assist in exploring pathway options.

Goal-Setting Interviews

These interviews provide an opportunity for students, parents, and tutor teachers to discuss essential information for 2025 and review student timetables. Parents and carers have been provided with a booking form to schedule an appointment with tutor teachers for 2025.

Step Up 2025 Program - Including Excursion to Victoria University

The Senior Year Step Up program will begin on Monday, November 18, and conclude on Friday, November 29, with an excursion to Victoria University on the final day. Parents and carers are requested to promptly submit the signed consent form for the excursion. It is essential for students to attend all Step-Up classes, as content covered in Unit 3 may not be repeated next year, and students may have their first School Assessed Coursework (SAC) soon after returning to school in 2025.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our tutor and classroom teachers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year in supporting our students as they strive to achieve their goals in their first year of VCE/VCE VM. My best wishes go out to all students for their upcoming exams and future endeavours, whether they continue to Year 12, pursue other courses, or explore work opportunities in 2025. On behalf of the Year 11 team, thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring the success of our students.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 12

Year 12 Report

The Year 12 cohort completed their classes last week, marking the end of 13 years of schooling with a range of celebratory activities. This is an exciting new chapter in their lives! I’d like to express my gratitude to our Year 12 students who dedicated the past two years to their VCE, VIP, and VCAL/VM studies. Their determination, resilience, and commitment have been truly admirable. As I mentioned at the Year 12 Valedictory, these students have overcome many challenges and hardships, demonstrating remarkable perseverance. I’m incredibly proud of each of them and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Celebration Week

Celebration Week for Year 12 was a huge success. Over 100 students enjoyed a fun day at Funfields on Tuesday, October 22nd. On Thursday, October 24th, we shared breakfast together, shared memories through a cohort assembly, and held the annual Year 12 Assembly in the college gym. Finally, on Friday, October 25th, we concluded their schooling journey with the Valedictory Dinner at Grandstar in Altona, where students were formally recognized for their 13 years of education in front of their proud families and teachers. It was wonderful to see the students so happy and dressed up for the occasion. Many acknowledgments were shared at Valedictory, and I’d like to extend my thanks again to the Year 12 tutor teachers, families, and our school community, as well as our Principal’s for their support. Watching these students grow and develop over the years has been an absolute pleasure.

A special thank you to Ms. De Domenico for all her assistance in organizing the Valedictory, and to all staff members for their tireless efforts in supporting our students to the finish line.

Year 12 Examinations

The Year 12 exams are now underway. During this time, please remind students to take care of themselves by eating well, getting enough sleep, and staying hydrated. Preparation is key, so students should be ready the night before and aim to arrive at the College at least 30 minutes early.

If your child is on the non-scored program and has overdue work, they should still attend school and complete their work in the Learning Resource Centre until it’s signed off by their teachers.

Finally, I hope those not sitting exams have a lovely break. For those taking exams, best of luck! After exams, I hope everyone can enjoy a well-deserved rest.
