YEAR 3/4 VA PARALYMPICS PROJECT
This term students in Year Three and Four have been learning about the history and the significance of the Paralympics. Through discussions, the students focused on the core values of the event: inclusion, respect, and empowerment. Additionally the students learned how to create a biography and applied this knowledge to create profiles of inspiring Paralympic athletes.
Below are a few students from 3 / 4 VA sharing their reflections.
Ella Jones by Georgia
This term everybody in our class chose a famous paralympian. I chose Ella Jones because of her courage, bravery and never giving up. She didn’t win a medal in Paris 2024 France but she won the best feeling representing her country and being to do so.
Her favourite quote is “I don’t need easy, I need possible!” ( Ella Jones )
Adam Dean by Lenora
This term we have been looking at the paralympics and we wrote biographies. I chose Adam Deans because he inspired me to never give up and try my best no matter what and to never give up on yourself. He fell down the stairs at school and the doctors then found a cancerous tumor in his femur. This didn’t stop him from being a world champion basketball player.
