Our Lady's aspires to be a welcoming community unified by love, faith, hope and learning.

Term 4, Week 1

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to what will be an exciting and action-packed Term 4! As we dive into the final term of the year, we have lots of excursions and incursions planned, providing students with enriching learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. Please keep an eye on the calendar for important dates and details regarding events this term.

This term, we will also be taking the time to celebrate the many successes and achievements of our students throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and growth, and we look forward to recognizing and celebrating these successes.

We welcome our new Preps for 2025 during our Headstart Program commencing in Week 4. This is always an exciting time for our school community to meet both our new and current families who will be joining OLPS.

We are delighted to welcome back Harriet Jenkins, who is returning from maternity leave and will be teaching 5B on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

We farewell Dionne Mancuso next week as she prepares for motherhood. We wish Dionne and her partner, Evan, all the best during this special time as they prepare for the precious gift of parenthood. Replacing Dionne in 2D for the remainder of the year will be Celeste Martin, who is super excited to be taking on this role and we are confident she will do a fantastic job with the class.

As we move into the warmer months, a reminder that we are a SunSmart school, and students are required to wear hats during outdoor activities. It’s simple – No Hat, No Play – so please ensure your child brings a hat each day to school.

Due to a tragic accident that occurred earlier last term, we have received guidance from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) that no staff member is permitted to retrieve balls from the roof. We are in the process of training relevant staff to handle this, as per MACS' directions. In the meantime, we kindly ask that students refrain from bringing balls from home until we have completed the necessary training and received the go-ahead from MACS.

This term we will be having Zooper Dooper Icy Pole $1.00 Tuesdays as part of a special fundraiser to support our Year 6 Graduation. Students will be able to purchase icy poles every Tuesday during lunchtime and all proceeds will go towards our Year 6 Graduation.  Thank you to all the parents who have generously given up some of their time to assist with selling the zooper doopers.

Not Returning to Our Lady's in 2025—It is that time of year again when we begin to plan for 2025. If you do not intend to return in 2025, could you please let me know by email at principal@olps.vic.edu.au. All we require is the name of the school your child will be attending in 2025.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to make this term a memorable and successful one for all.

Take care

Cinzia Mancuso
