Passion Project 2024 Exhibition Evening
Passion Project 2024 Exhibition Evening saw the continuation of the SCC tradition of Year 10 students stepping up and out to create a product and learn new skills about something they are personally passionate about. Our exhibition provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their products and to talk to visitors about the process and the final result.
Students had to consider deeply the goal they wanted to pursue and how this could form the basis for a project. Students were required to develop and apply a devise range of skills. They needed to:
- Plan their project
- Identify and approach a mentor, sending polite and respectful emails
- Establish a budget and source materials
- Determine how they would display their product
- Maintain self-discipline and energy
- Remain open and respond to feedback
A couple of students were profiled, Matthias Ewikowski, who has learned much about building through the construction of a sauna, and Zoe Wigg, who used the project to further develop her passion for drawing through a series of black on white drawings
Thanks was given to mentors: parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, neighbours, family friends, coaches or specialists on YouTube.
