Week 2, Term 4
Prep
Students will begin this term with a focus on dance. This week they will explore how everyday movements can be transformed into creative and expressive dance routines.
Grade 1 and 2
Students will begin this term with a focus on drama. This week they will explore how to create and portray characters using movement, voice, and body language. They will work together to act out simple stories, expressing different characters and emotions.
Grade 3 and 4
Students will begin this term with a focus on music. This week they will revise previously taught rhythm patterns and their notations. Students will also explore groups of 4 beats (4 beats in a bar) through chants, body percussion and movement.
Grade 5 and 6
Students will begin this term with a focus on music. They will be introduced to the style of hip hop and they will revise and learn rhythm patterns. Students will explore these patterns through body percussion and beatboxing.
Prep
Students will be creating a Crazy Hair Day picture showcasing different lines they have learnt throughout the year.
Grade 1 and 2
Students will be continuing to weave the ‘weft’ (the crosswise threads on a loom that are passed over and under the warp threads) in their paper plate artwork. They will also begin to construct the base and background of their ‘Outer Space Sculpture’.
Grade 3 and 4
Students will be mounting their ‘tint and shade’ ice-cream painting from last week as well as creating the armature of their ice-cream scoops to attach to their cone that they painted last week.
Grade 5
Students will learn how to stitch facial features onto their buddy bear. They will sew on accessories and buttons and begin to learn how to blanket stitch around the perimeter of their teddy.
Grade 6
Students will continue to work on their clay legacy tile, adding 3D elements as well as their name, graduating year and any features unique to them and their personality.
