FOOTY & SPORT COLOURS DAY

Monday 16th Sept

We are looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up in their favourite sports colours this coming Monday, getting into the September & October Football finals spirit!

Our Sports Leaders have also been hard at work creating a few fun Footy Challenges for all year levels to take part in over the afternoon.

Please note: Dressing in sports colours is optional.

Our SF sports uniform is also an option.

NATIONAL AEROBICS

FUNDRAISING DAY THANK YOU & BAKE STALLS

It’s been a big week of activities for our AeroSchools students, kicking off on Tuesday with their Gold Coin Fundraising Day.  All our Aerobics students are very grateful for the kind donations from our SF families!  As an add-on to this day, our students were treated to the Aerobic girls performing in front of them at lunchtime, along with a free Aerobics clinic for all other students, run by our amazing coach; Olivia Feaver.  The girls are very grateful for all of the kind donations they received on this day, which will go towards paying for part of their Nationals entry fee.

This afternoon, as well as tomorrow/Friday afternoon, our Aerobics team will also be running a Bake Stall out on the Mary Clare courts, between 3.15 – 3.45pm.  Baked goodies will sell between $2 to $5 and EFT will be available.  NOTE Food items Ingredient lists will be on all baked items packaging bags, with all items being nut-free.

Lightning Premiership

BASKETBALL WRAP

Last Friday our two representative Year 5 & 6 basketball teams headed to the Sandringham Leisure Centre to participate in the Dendy District LP Basketball tournament.  Our teams enjoyed playing in a round-robin tournament against our other local Dendy schools.  Our boys team played well over their rounds, with only 1 loss in their pool games. This resulted in them making the finals to play off for 3rd or 4th place.  Our boys worked extremely well as a team and ended up winning this final, to come 3rd overall.  Well done boys!

Our girls proved they were a force to contend with over the entire day, winning all pool games and making their way through to the grand final.  Our girls played a wonderful grand final against Sacred Heart, and came away winning the GF!  Congratulations to the 8 girls for their amazing team efforts over the day.

A huge thank you goes to all of the volunteering parents that gave up their day to support these teams for the entire day.  We’d also like to thank Mr. Peter Tyndall for his efforts to supervise and support the team also.

The next round of competition for our girls is set for Thursday 24th of October and we wish them all the very best for this.

Term 4 Cricket Blast (T20) tournaments

Year  3/4 & 5/6

In early Term 4 our Year 3&4’s and Year 5&6’s will have the opportunity to attend a Dendy District Cricket Blast tournament (formally called T20 Cricket).  This is a round-robin cricket tournament, where teams of 8 play multiple games of modified cricket over the day against other Dendy schools.

Year 5&6 day is set for Week 2: Friday 18th October

Year 3&4 day is set for Week 3: Friday 25th October

Our Year 5 & 6 students that have expressed interest in playing are currently being placed in teams of 8-12 players.  An Operoo will go out over the next week with all details for this tournament.  Interest from our Year 3&4’s will be sorted by early next week and an Operoo will go out prior to the holidays.

PARENT HELPERS REQUIRED:  All teams will require at least 1-2 parents to support the managing and scoring of games over the day.  If you’d like to support your child’s team on this day, please email Tania with your availability.  9.40am - 2.40pm, or ½ day support would be much appreciated.

WHOLE SCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Our Term 4 sporting highlight is our Whole School Swimming Carnival, set to take place on Friday 29th November.  This year’s carnival is to take place at MSAC in the large outdoor undercover pool. The Junior and Senior carnival will be run in the same pool, with a boom separating the pool into two.

Parents: please lock this date into your diaries now!  This event does require the wonderful support from numerous parent helpers for both the Junior (P-2) and Senior (3-6) carnivals.  An Operoo email with all relevant details will be sent out to all families in early Term 4.
