Principal's Message

Well what another big two weeks at ENPS! Term Four always seems to happen so quickly and so much is always going on! Who would think it is only the end of Week Two of Term Four? Who can believe there is only ten weeks till we are finished again for another year?!

It is such an exciting time of year; the Year Sixes are working so hard on preparing for their Exhibition - their final showcase of learning for their primary school years, while we welcome our 2025 Foundation students beginning last week with their story time session. I had such a blast reading to them last Friday. Reading stories is one of my absolute favourite things to do and I just loved starting to get to know our future students and their families. The Year Four (future buddies) students were tremendous guest readers last week too!

We had over 60 of our new little people come along to start familiarising themselves with school for story time. This year we have also introduced a play session after school for the new Foundation students, as a part of the transition program. This is a great way for them to become familiar with the Foundation classrooms, while we also get to know them all better.

As for Exhibition, it is so fantastic to see and hear the Year Sixes so invested in their learning for Exhibition. The focus on science this year is going to be a real stand out! Make sure you keep Thursday 31st October free to come along and see Exhibition! Also check out their updates in the newsletter and at our assemblies. It truly is a remarkable event!

Staffing Update

This term we have welcomed back Lisa Do from a term travelling through Europe and with that Ruby Ziogas has now moved from covering 3LD to now be covering 4SG. Shannon Garner will be heading off to begin family leave at the end of next week as her partner Jason and her prepare to welcome their first child in November. We can't wait to hear of the safe arrival!

And in more baby news, we congratulate Sian Wilson and partner Taylah on the safe arrival on their little boy Parker in the school holidays! We are very quickly gathering a new future class full of ENPS staff kids at this rate!

Gordon’s Retirement

On behalf of Gordon, I can’t thank you all enough for the truly beautiful and heartfelt outpouring of support there has been for Gordon over the past two weeks since the announcement of his retirement. Unfortunately, Gordon hasn’t been well since the news was announced and Gordon is actually still in hospital. He wants you to all know he is ok, however is undergoing a variety of tests in order to determine a treatment plan with his medical team. This week, Gordon took some time with Fran, our wonderful newsletter editor, to share his story and experience at ENPS with us. Make sure you take a moment to read his special section in this week’s newsletter. It is truly something very special and I bet most people aren’t aware of just how involved Gordon has been in the history of ENPS! When he is up to it in a couple of weeks, we will have our special assembly for him and celebrate his time at ENPS with gusto and love! I know he can’t wait.

2025 Planning

We are now well into our planning for the 2025 school year. A reminder that we ask that if you and your family are planning on leaving ENPS at the end of 2024, please let the school office know as soon as you are in a position to do so. (This excludes Year Six students.)

Have a wonderful weekend, stay safe and thank goodness for daylight saving!
