Partnerships and Pathways

Our Multiplex JumpStart students in Years 9 and 10 had an incredible visit to Multiplex HQ in the CBD last week, where they connected with professionals from various construction and engineering organisations. Experts in design, carpentry, civil and mechanical engineering, sustainability, and project management shared their knowledge, offering students a comprehensive view of potential career paths. Thanks to Multiplex, Euroline, Aurecon, NECA and other businesses for supporting female students aspiring to engineering careers. This event provided valuable insights into consulting, building, and subcontracting roles, helping students learn about qualifications, and career pathways in this practical step forward in their professional journeys.

Last Friday’s Wellbeing lessons encouraged students to reflect on what motivates and inspires them and identify what brings them joy—a key element in shaping post-school pathways. Our homeroom teams from Years 8, 9 and 10 helped students connect their passions with future career goals and explored careers that align with their values. We’re proud to support students as they link their personal passions to meaningful future careers.

In the past fortnight our Lunch and Learn series has focused on vocational education and training pathways. We welcomed back one of our Chisholm Alumnae, Stehanie Young (Class of 2022), who presented many career and training opportunities at Opal HealthcareTAFE NSW showcased their extensive range of qualifications, helping students understand how to get ‘job ready’ for high-demand industries. Australian Training Company (ATC) featured their courses, traineeships and apprenticeships in business, sport and recreation, horticulture, community services and IT. We look forward to hosting RUOK's Education and Young People Manager, Dr. Hannah Brown next week and hearing about how we as a community can help those we care about feel connected through the power of meaningful conversations.

To our Year 12 parents - please encourage your daughter to put the finishing touches to her Post School Plan document ~ and share her ideas and aspirations with you! Year 12s have been working on these over the past three terms, preparing them for the exciting next chapter in their lives. Students who don’t have a clear plan can book in to meet with us in the Library - including in Term 4.

UAC have sent out a quick reference guide featuring all you need to know about key dates, SRS, EAS, open days, info webinars and pathways to degrees. This is a really useful snapshot of all that UAC offers at this point in the journey to the HSC. Don’t forget! The UAC early bird discounted fee of $80 ends on 30 September and SRS early entry scheme closes on 16 September. Students seeking to apply for EAS should see Mrs Cusack, Kara or Adam.

Students from Years 7-12 can keep up to date with all our careers news and resources - including Careers at Canvas, the Ponder Pathways Hub and Beyond
