Victorian Government Subsidies: An Added Blessing for PVCC Families
Plenty Valley Christian College is truly blessed to be located on a magnificent 38-acre rural campus surrounded by natural beauty and offering breathtaking views across to the Kinglake Ranges. Our students learn in an environment filled with peace, space, and the wonder of God’s creation, far removed from the busyness of urban life. Alongside these natural blessings, our rural location provides practical advantages for families, including eligibility for valuable Victorian Government subsidies that help support the cost of education.
One significant support for PVCC families is the Student Conveyance Allowance. This allowance provides a government contribution toward the cost of transporting students to and from school. While it does not cover the full cost of travel, it offers meaningful assistance, particularly because many PVCC families travel some distance each day. Students may qualify for this allowance if they live more than 4.8 kilometres from the College and if Plenty Valley Christian College is the nearest Independent Christian College to their home address.
Families apply by completing the relevant travel form for private car travel, private bus travel, or multi‑mode transport and submitting it by 28 February 2026. One application is required per family, and those already receiving the allowance only need to resubmit if their address or method of transport has changed. Once payments are received from the government at the end of each term, the College credits them directly to family fee accounts. Another valuable support available to eligible families is the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund. This fund provides $400 per child in 2026 to help cover the cost of school camps, sports activities, excursions and incursions. The funds are paid directly to the College and applied to student fee accounts. Eligibility includes families where a parent or carer holds a valid means‑tested concession card valid on the first day of Term 1 or Term 2, mature minors aged 16+ with their own eligible card, and families who qualify for special consideration such as refugee or asylum seeker status or out‑of‑home care.
Applications open on 27 January 2026 and can be submitted using the CSEF 2026 Application Form. One form is required per family and may be lodged via email or in person. A new application must be completed if it is the first time applying, if the student has changed schools, if concession card details have changed, or if a new sibling is being added.
