Family Picnic and Primary Open Classrooms
Our annual Family Picnic and Primary Open Classrooms evening was blessed with perfect sunshine and an atmosphere full of joy, connection, and community. It was wonderful to see so many families spread out across the grassy hill, sharing food, conversation, and laughter as students played and explored.
The event offered something for everyone — from lively games on the courts to colourful face painting, and a steady stream of live music performed by our talented students and alumni.
The Primary classrooms were open for families to step inside, meet teachers, and take a closer look at the learning spaces their children have already begun to make their own.
A special thank‑you goes to all who supported the Year 12 Live Your Legacy fundraiser through the sausage sizzle and drinks stall. Your generosity helps empower our senior students to leave a meaningful impact on the PVCC community.
Evenings like this remind us of the strength and warmth of our college family. We’re grateful to every parent, student, and staff member who contributed to such a memorable start to the year.
Secondary Swimming Carnival
Swimming Carnival Brings Sunshine, Fun, and Community Spirit
Our Swimming Carnival may have started with a showery start, but that didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! Students arrived rugged up, smiling, and ready for a day of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition. And right on cue, God blessed us with beautiful sunshine just as the events got underway — a lovely reminder of His timing and provision.
Once the sun came out, the pool deck was full of life. Students showed up in bright house colours and creative costumes, adding joy and personality to the day. There were laughs, cheers, and plenty of encouragement as everyone got behind their friends and sports house.
In the water, our swimmers gave it everything. Whether they were racing for points, giving a new stroke a go, or bravely jumping in despite the cool start, their effort and attitude were fantastic to see. It was a wonderful display of perseverance, teamwork, and good sportsmanship — qualities we value deeply in our school community. Other memorable highlights included the Year 12 inflatable race, novelty relays, staff v student relay and opportunity for students to use the waterslides.
A huge thank‑you goes to our staff and volunteers who kept things running smoothly and supported our students throughout the day. Their care and commitment help make events like this so special.
By the end of the carnival, it was clear that the real highlight wasn’t just the races — it was the sense of community, joy, and togetherness that filled the whole day. Congratulations to the back-to-back winning house Schippers, whose high participation rate secured a convincing win!
Food Sharing Policy
Purpose of this policy:
In an effort to be more health and safety conscious, Plenty Valley Christian College has adopted a “No Food Sharing” practice for primary students and controls around the sharing of food in the secondary school. This practice will not infringe on the food that parents provide for their own child.
A variety of learning and school-based experiences may include the handling of food. In primary, three days’ notification will be given to parents of children with life-threatening food allergies of any foods used during these activities as part of the classroom or wider school program.
