School Council Report

The existing school council met for the last time on Wednesday evening, with a few apologies.

We covered a range of topics on the agenda, which included:

  • Thanking outgoing council members and mentioning the self-nomination and election process
  • Discussing the incomplete toilet upgrade and the inconvenience and disruption to the students and staff, with a strong message to the building group that the school council finds the delay unacceptable
  • Reviewed the progress made towards the 2025 Term 4 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) and looked at the draft 2026 AIP
  • Looked at the range of camps, excursions and class activities that are being offered this term.

Some other points included:

  • Congratulating Vicky Levesque on her organisation and planning towards the Swimming Sports, as it was the first time she had been in this position as the Interschool Sports Coordinator
  • Reminding families that while raising concerns with school councillors is a good way to ensure they are addressed, contacting the school directly should be the first step. If unsure of who to talk to, a brief explanation to the office staff or with a member of leadership, will ensure it is passed to the correct person to address the matter.

Our next meeting is being held on Wednesday 18th March, with the AGM starting at 6.15pm and then the first meeting of the new School Council starting at 6.30 in Room 9.
