School Council Report

February Council Meeting

Our first School Council meeting for 2025 was held on Monday 24 February. This was the final meeting for the current council, as eight positions (two staff and six parent members) are reaching the end of their term. Some members have chosen to renominate, while others will be finishing up. We extend our gratitude for their valuable contributions and look forward to welcoming new members at our next meeting.

In summary, we confirmed the upcoming Council and Subcommittee meeting dates and approved subcommittee reports and the Year 6 Camp documentation. Paul also guided us through the key points of the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), which outlines the school's goals and key improvement strategies for the year ahead. A link to this was shared in the previous newsletter for those interested in reviewing the plan.

We reviewed the 2025 events calendar, which promises a fantastic line-up of activities. To kick off, the annual Welcome Picnic was a wonderful success, with families gathering on the oval for an evening of fun. There were children dancing up a storm, and we extend a big thank you to DJ Paul Agius for setting the perfect vibe with his fantastic music selection. Stay tuned for opportunities to get involved and support upcoming FPS events!

The next School Council meeting is on Monday 31 March, beginning with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) from 6 – 6:30pm. All are welcome to attend the AGM.

On behalf of the School Council, we hope everyone has had a fantastic start to 2025. We look forward to another exciting and successful year at FPS!
