A Touch of Orange - Friday 28th
To celebrate the culmination of Harmony Week, we invite students to wear a touch of orange on Friday, 28th March as a symbol of inclusivity and respect for all. Orange is the chosen colour to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and the encouragement of mutual respect. We encourage everyone to wear a touch of orange to show your support on this day.
Please note: full school uniform is still required for the day.
Harmony Week is a time to reflect on the importance of respecting each other and embracing our differences. Australia's success as a multicultural nation is built on shared values, mutual understanding, and a deep respect for one another. These values (respect, equality, and freedom) extend beyond cultural backgrounds and are what make Australia such a great place to live. The message of respect and belonging is something we can all embrace, not just during Harmony Week but every day!
Pyjama Day – Supporting the RCH
The Junior School Council (JSC) is excited to announce that Thursday 24th April (Week 1, Term 2) will be Pyjama Day!
On this special day, students are invited to wear their comfiest pyjamas to school and bring a gold coin donation to support the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The idea for Pyjama Day came because JSC members wanted to support a cause that means a lot to many of our students. During discussions, we realised that lots of children in our school community have visited the Royal Children’s Hospital for treatment, check-ups, or to support family members. Many of them shared a special connection to the hospital, remembering how they often wore their pyjamas while receiving care. This inspired the JSC to take action, and raise funds to help other children and families going through similar experiences.
Pyjama Day is a fun and meaningful way to show our support for the Royal Children’s Hospital and the amazing work they do. So, get cosy, come to school in your PJs, and don’t forget your gold coin donation!
Thank you for your support, we can’t wait to see the school filled with comfy and caring students on the day!
