From Cartwheels to Confidence: A New Gymnastics Journey

All Saints’ College’s youngest students are leaping into a brand-new gymnastics program, designed to develop fundamental movement skills in a fun and engaging way. Held in the Colour Room every Monday and Friday, this program brings the College’s Fundamentals curriculum to life, helping Early Years students build balance, coordination, flexibility, and strength.

Gymnastics was chosen as the ideal activity for young learners because of its comprehensive approach to physical and cognitive development. The sessions not only enhance gross motor skills but also foster body awareness, confidence, and social-emotional growth—essential elements for success both in and out of the classroom.

To deliver expert coaching, All Saints’ College has partnered with local gymnastics club, Jungle Gymnastics. Their inclusive and non-competitive philosophy aligns perfectly with the College’s values of ERIC (Empathy, Respect, Integrity, and Courage). The program is collaboratively planned between Jungle Gymnastics’ qualified coaches and the College’s Physical Education teacher to ensure it meets the developmental needs of students while maintaining a nurturing and enjoyable learning environment.

With students already flipping, balancing, and rolling their way through each session, the gymnastics program is set to become a much-loved part of the Early Years experience at All Saints’ College.

Exploring Nature Through Art with Jacinda Bayne

Our youngest artists recently had a special opportunity to learn from HotHouse Company’s artist-in-residence, Jacinda Bayne. Over the past two weeks, Jacinda has been creating a stunning artwork in the CPA foyer, which will soon be displayed at the College. As part of her residency, she worked with our Kindy students in a watercolour painting session, encouraging them to take their creativity outdoors.

Inspired by the natural world, the students observed the trees around them and used nature as their muse, experimenting with watercolours under Jacinda’s guidance. This immersive experience allowed them to explore artistic expression in a playful and engaging way, fostering a deeper connection between art and the environment.
