Primary School

Welcome to 2025 in Primary at GSG
We are so excited to welcome all 232 students this week as they begin their academic year with us. Our teachers have spent many hours creating incredible spaces and learning opportunities for our students inside and outside the classroom. The sounds of joy could be heard all over the campus the morning of day one, from the coffee van right through to bus duty. Thank you for entrusting us to be the heart of your child’s education and welcome to the wonderful community that is GSG.
Please enjoy a photographic snapshot of Day One.
At our Year Two to Twelve Welcome Assembly yesterday, Mrs Ranger and I had the opportunity to speak about beginning the year as the Heads of Primary and Early Childhood.
Please read below a transcript of what was shared with our students.
Good morning, everyone!
I’m so excited to be standing here today as the new Head of Early Childhood (three-year-olds to Year Two). My name is Mrs Ranger, and this is my tenth year at this wonderful school! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with so many of you, and I can honestly say that I love what I do.
I have a bit of a love for bright colours and fun prints, and I like to think that my approach to teaching is just as vibrant and full of life as the colours I adore! I believe in creating a space where children feel excited, supported and encouraged to learn, and I can’t wait to continue this journey in 2025. Being in this role means I get to help shape an environment where every child feels seen, valued and ready to take on the world. You will also find me teaching Kindergarten on Wednesdays and various lessons throughout the ECC. I hope to meet and interact with many of you this year and encourage you to come up, say hello and even pop down for a visit to our Early Childhood space!
Good Morning! My name is Ms Field and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside Mrs Ranger this year so together we can deliver an exciting year of adventures and learning to our Primary School students. I have spent the last eight months away from the school raising my little boy Archie and bigger boy Hamish, but I am back and ready to begin my 13th year at GSG. This year my main role is to look out for our students and families in Years Three to Six, but I can be found teaching Year Four on Fridays and learning enrichment throughout the week.
GSG is a wonderful community of families, students and staff and I look forward to creating a learning environment where each of you feels seen, valued and heard so you can find joy, passion and purpose in all that you learn and experience. This is a unique place to learn where you have all you need in order to strive for personal excellence and I encourage you to make the most of the incredible opportunity your families have given you by enrolling you at GSG. Look out for each other over the year and please take the time this week to greet the new faces within your classes. We all know what that ‘new person’ feeling is like, and I encourage you to find a way to make everyone around you feel at home, including our new staff members too. This is our biggest Primary School cohort in over ten years and I can’t wait to be a part of the adventures we will have in 2025.
