Student Voice

This week, students were asked to provide Miss Epskamp and Mrs Soccio with some information about their new classes. The messages from students indicate they are all feeling happy, safe and comfortable with their teachers and their peers in their new environment. We have lots of happy and excited students beginning the year at Highvale.  Well done to all of our students!

Aarieya Prep FY - I am happy to be in Prep because I like playing at school. The best activity we've done so far is colouring!

I like my teachers because they play games.

Ruvee Prep FY - I am happy to be in Prep because I have already made 2 friends. The best thing about school so far is the monkey bars. I like my teachers because they teach me new things.

Violet 1S - I am happy to be in Year 1 because I can play on the oval at playtime. The best activity we've done so far is the fill the bucket activity. I like my new teacher because she helps me open my yoghurt.

Zohran 1S - I am happy to be in Year 1 because I can play on the oval at lunchtime and see my sister.The best activity we've done so far is Maths. I like my new teacher because she is nice.

Akith 3J - I am happy to be in Year 3 because I get to have my own laptop. The best activity we've done so far is making a ‘getting to know you’ 3D sphere. I like my new teacher because she was also my Prep teacher!

Bonnie 3J - I am happy to be in Year 3 because we get to go on camp. The best activity we've done so far is drawing a self-portrait.  

I like my new teacher because she helps us learn.  

Hirvya 4A - I am happy to be in Year 4 because the work is harder. The best activity we've done so far is playing ‘Getting to know you Bingo’.

I like my new teacher because Mrs A encourages us to try our best and she doesn’t get mad if we get something wrong.

Steven 4A - I am happy to be in Year 4 because I have a lot of new friends in my class.

The best activity we've done so far is decorating the class door, our theme is ‘Gaming’. I like my new teacher because she is really kind.  

Maya E 5D - I am happy to be in Year 5 because we get lots of new opportunities. The best activity we've done so far is writing letters to our future self. I like my new teacher because she is really funny, nice and creative.

Eleni K 5D - I am happy to be in Year 5 because we get to be more independent and do new stuff in our year level. The best activity we've done so far is playing sport and making our ‘all about me’ displays. I like my new teacher because she is really kind, doesn’t get upset easily and is not too strict.

Zara Z 5D - I am happy to be in Year 5 because we have more responsibilities and I’m in a class with most of my friends. The best activity we've done so far is playing a Kahoot and coming up with our own questions. I like my new teacher because she is very nice, kind, my sister had Ms Drew and she’s not too strict.

Kaitlyn W 5D - I am happy to be in Year 5 because we have interschool sports. The best activity we've done so far is having PE. I like my new teacher because she is generous.

Charles 6D - I am happy to be in Year 6 because of the new responsibilities we get to have.

The best activity we've done so far is making the Get To Know You T-shirts and learning about each other. I like my new teacher because she's the best teacher.

Renita 6D - I am happy to be in Year 6 because I have a good teacher and we have fun

The best activity we've done so far is making a class Kahoot. I like my new teacher because she's nice and kind.

Each newsletter will contain a different group of students providing us with insights and thoughts about particular topics. If you have an idea or something to share with the community, please come and see us at the Office and we may be able to include your views in the next issue.
