Principal Report

Mrs Deborah Crane

Home/School Partnership

Thank you to the families who were able to attend the Meet the Teacher night and helped to establish a relationship with their child's classroom teacher/s and Specialists ( if you were able to book a spot). This helps to develop the communication between home and school.

Our whole school goals this year is to ensure that you receive as much communication as possible about your child, as this was some feedback from our parent opinion survey last year.

We will also be establishing a learning portfolio in Term 2 which will come home to further provide links to their learning at school.

Homework has been revised and a new plan for 2025 is set in motion since last week. This will involve Home Reading, some spelling or phonics practice and some maths counting practice. Only Home reading is every night. We hope this is streamlined and you can manage this with your child's after school activities during the week.

Community Involvement

We need your support!

We will be holding a number of community events throughout the year and I would like to seek some volunteering of parents for at least one event.

We have events like BBQ's, Disco, Mother's Day Stalls etc.... all for the benefit of the students. By allowing your children to see you value our school this creates more motivation and enthusiasm within school from them - they see it as important too!

So please try to see if you can volunteer some time to one event over the year.

Parent Opinion Survey 2024

Thank you to the families who did the parent opinion Survey in 2024. We finally got our results over the Xmas break. I have attached them for you to look over. I am quite pleased that our results are beginning to get back to what they were prior to covid 19. It has taken everyone a few years to overcome some of the effects of lockdowns and isolation, but we are nearly there. Thank you for you ongoing support.

The areas that we have in our annual implementation plan this year match what you have also said in this survey:

* Parent participation and involvement

*Teacher communication

*Managing student behaviours

*General school improvement (school grounds)

Congratulations Ms Mckenna

PVNPS school community says congratulations to Ms Mckenna and her hubby Boz on the safe arrival of their first child, a daughter. Madison May was born on Valentines Day. We wish them all every happiness.

Mother's Day Stall

Next Term we have a Mother's Day & Special Others Stall in which students can purchase gifts, chosen by them for their loved ones. The students love this shopping opportunity.

The Junior School Council do select a range of purchased online items for the stall - However.... even better are the home made items donated by YOU or your relatives.

So this is a very early reminder to get creative or look out for some special gifts that you can make or donate to the school next term.

Thank you for your support.
