Prep Guy
Well, we are almost at the end of our first year of schooling. I am so very proud of every single student in Prep Guy; you have all learnt to be Respectful Rabbits, Responsibile Rhinos and Resilient Raccoons. We have had a lovely time this week celebrating Christmas with lots of Christmas songs and activities. We loved raising money for wheelchairs this week and had a lot of fun.
A big thank you to all the lovely parents who helped out this year with PMP, Reading Circles and everything else, to support your child; it is very much appreciated.
Our Reading nights competition was won by Evie Neilson, who read every single night, including weekends and holidays. Wow! What an amazing effort.
Our Students of the week this week are all of my amazing Prep students. Thank you for making 2024 such a great year full of fun and lots of learning.
I wish all my beautiful students and families a very safe, fun filled Christmas and happy holidays. See you in 2025!
What a busy two weeks we have had. Students consolidated their learning through a range of activities including revising the concept of connections and making connections to character personalities and identifying how they change over time. In writing, students have been focusing on transactional writing where they have been able to write letters to our class elf and their 2025 teacher.
In Maths, students have explored concept of 'Flip, Slide and Turn'. They have use hands on 2D shapes to show what the shape would look if they flipped, slid and turned. Students made calendars and consolidated maths skills in hands on games.
It was pleasing to see so many parents in our community attend the end of year BBQ. students put so much time and effort into the Christmas Doors and loved showing parents.
Student Achievers
Well done to Fletch and Ziggy for being our student achievers. You have done so well in showing respect and being resilient. Keep up the great effort.
We have had a busy two weeks finalising assessments and reviewing content from the year. We have reviewed the long a, e, i, o and u sound and worked on building our reading fluency and confidence. We have continued to explore and expand our punctuation skills by writing lots of student achiever letters, letters to our elves and creating Christmas stories. We reviewed time, fractions and flips, slides and turns in maths and have spent time playing maths games, mainly focusing on addition and subtraction using Australian money.
Congratulations to Clark, Miheli, Cooper, Rose, Archer and Jamie for being our student achiever's over the last three weeks.
You are all super stars.
We had a ball on Wheels Day this week!
This is our last newsletter for the year. I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays and enjoy spending Christmas and New Year's with your nearest and dearest.
I have loved every single second that I have had the privilege to teach your children this year, whilst I'll still see them next year, it will be very hard to say goodbye next Friday.
