Top 10 in South Australia
We are thrilled to announce that the College has placed in the Top 10 NAPLAN private schools ranking in South Australia!
Achieving this based on Year 9 average scoring out of around 800 schools in the State has God’s favour written all over it. As the Advertiser puts it, ‘Smaller private schools have achieved top NAPLAN results despite charging a fraction of the fees to attend some elite South Australian campuses in 2024.’
We are delighted with our students and Teachers for working so hard with truly admirable excellence. What a way to ring out the school year! Praise God.
Christmas in the Square 2024
What a blessing to sponsor this incredible event, give out thousands of free candles, have our Executive Principal Andrew Linke speak and watch our Christmas-spirited Year 3/4 Choir perform!
It was also a joy to witness the gospel message being shared from the stage, beautiful carols sung and vibrant fireworks go off at the end of the night.
Thank you to all the Emmaus families who joined us for this event.
Year 12 Graduation and Speech Night
We recently held our Year 12 Graduation and Speech Night celebrating the Graduating Class of 2024.
It was wonderful to gather together as a community to acknowledge these 78 Year 12 students (now Old Scholars) and all the work they've done this year!
Our guest speaker Ben Peters shared that "God has pursued you and wants to use you" and spoke on Colossians 3: 23-24 (NIV).
We pray that this class would seek God's purpose for their next steps and know their Emmaus community is cheering them on. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
Brooklyn Park Christmas Concert
Our Brooklyn Park Christmas Concert, showcased a musical Christmas performance from each Class, with our community attending in large numbers, filling the court space with chairs and blankets to cheer on our brave students.
From singing to drumming to dancing, these students certainly brought the Christmas spirit, as did the decorations that covered them and the stage!
Emmaus Christian College Outreach Food Drive
Our South Plympton families, under the leadership of our student-driven ECCO team, came together to collect a generous supply of food donations to support Baptist Care SA’s Emergency Relief program.
The Relief program offers critical assistance, including food, pharmacy vouchers, and bus tickets to individuals and families facing hardship. This initiative highlights the power of collective action and compassion within our school community.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Thank you to everyone who contributed to making a positive impact to those who are struggling this Christmas.
Australian Business Week
Australian Business Week (ABW) is an intensive five-day program that all Year 10 students are enrolled in. The cohort was organised into 8 teams, and students immediately took ownership of a virtual business with a poor financial record. Teams made critical decisions that directly influenced profit and share prices.
Groups developed a product and created a marketing campaign, including a 30-second commercial. Students delivered oral presentations, wrote company reports and showcased their products at a trade display in the EPAC.
Products included Breathe Easy’s air purifier, LingaVue’s translation glasses, and VersaLearn’s personal learning programs. Congratulations to this year’s overall winning team True Taste Innovations, led by CEO Caleb V, which created a device that can scan food to identify the exact ingredients and calories.
