Day for Daniel – Friday 24 October 2025

Rush House will be hosting the annual “Day for Daniel” this Friday.  Staff and students are encouraged to wear RED and will be required to make a donation of $2.00, $5.00 or $10.00 via their student ID card. At break time, Rush House will be hosting a sausage sizzle and selling cans of Coke for $3. Please make sure there is money on students' Tuckshop Monitor account. All monies raised will be going to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

Year 12 Graduation – Friday 21 November

Families of our Year 12 students are invited to take part in this year’s Graduation celebrations. The letter below outlines key dates, event details, and booking links for these special occasions.

Year 12: Walking out the way they walked in

With Week 3 marking the final days of timetabled classes, our Year 12s are in their last preparations for external examinations. Some students have completed all assessment and are currently engaged in full-time work placements.

Key milestones (in addition to externals):

  • Wednesday 22 October 2025: House Farewell and Final Assembly (students only)
  • Thursday 20 November 2025: Year 12 Final Gathering (students only – attendance is compulsory)
  • Friday 21 November 2025: Year 12 Graduation

As we approach these important occasions, we ask students and families to help us finish the year on a positive note. Please encourage our young men to “walk out the same way they walked in.”

Many parents will remember their son’s first day - immaculately dressed, hair tidy, and proudly representing the College. We expect the same standard for all end-of-year events and celebrations: exemplary behaviour, full uniform, and high standards of personal presentation.

The College will continue to uphold these expectations, and parents are asked to remind their sons of this to avoid unnecessary conversations later in the term. Thank you to our Year 12 students and families for their support of this over the coming weeks.

Road Safety: Near Misses

In recent weeks we’ve been contacted by parents and members of the community regarding several road-safety near misses before and after school. In one instance, a cyclist (unidentified) swerved between two parked cars to cross the road and moved directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The driver, shocked and shaken, managed to stop and has shared dashcam footage with the College so we can follow up and remind students of safe travel practices.

Our young people are precious to us. Please take a moment to reinforce safe travel habits with your son:

  • Take care and slow down when crossing roads
  • Look both ways - more than once if needed
  • If in doubt, wait
  • Follow all local road rules and guidelines

We value our partnership with families and hope this reminder prompts a timely conversation at home. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community safe.
