Term 4: Values Day

We kicked off Term 4 with our School Values Day, a wonderful way to reconnect and celebrate our core values of Respect, Connect, Aspire, and Achieve. Throughout the day, students took part in a range of fun, hands-on activities designed to build teamwork, kindness, and a deeper understanding of what each value looks like in action. It was fantastic to see students collaborating, encouraging one another, and showing pride in our school community. What a positive way to begin the term!

Literacy and Geography

This term, students are exploring the book Are We There Yet? by Alison Lester to deepen their understanding of narrative and setting. Through the story, students are learning how authors use descriptive language to bring places to life and create a sense of adventure. The book also provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Australia’s states and territories, as the family travels across the country visiting many well-known landmarks. Students are enjoying making connections between the story and real locations on the map, while developing their skills as both readers and writers.

Numeracy

This term, we have been linking Mathematics with our Geography unit as students explore the concept of Location. They have been learning how to create and follow maps, using directional and positional language such as next to, between, north, and south. Using Google Maps, students have located our school and other familiar places, including their homes, parks, and local landmarks. Through these activities, students are developing their spatial awareness and understanding of how maps represent real-world places.

Our whole school had an exciting time attending the Fizzics Education – Big Science, Big Fun Show! Students were amazed as they watched and participated in a range of interactive experiments exploring the world of chemical science. The show was packed with exciting demonstrations that made science come alive—bubbling reactions, colour changes, and plenty of laughter and learning along the way! It was a fantastic opportunity for students to see scientific concepts in action and to spark their curiosity about how things work.
