Term 3 Footy Day
Term 3 finished off with Footy Day. Thanks to Mr E for organising our annual Footy Day. A huge thank you also to our teaching staff and ES staff for assisting with the day. The students had a great day with the team parade, rotation activities and a special lunch!
Term 4
English
This term we have started a unit of work on the well known picture story book 'Are We There Yet?' We have been learning the meaning of new vocabulary such as 'ruins, tapestry, crisp, mob, drovers, beachcombing, catapaulted, cascading and nautilus'. We have tracked the family's jouney on a map of Australia and made connections with our Geography topic of 'Places and Connections'.
We have been learning about the states and territories of Australia and their capital cities. Our Year 5/6 Buddies helped us research the places in the story. We loved leaning about Uluru.
Whole School Values day
In Week 2 we had a special day to focus on our new school values: Respect, Achieve, Inspire and Connect. Students rotated around 4 activities across the day with all staff and completed a Kindness paper chain, a compliments book, a trophy and an inspirational quote bookmark for another student. We had a pancake morning tea. Thank you to the wonderful ES staff for cooking them.
Maths
In Maths this term students have focused on the topics of numberlines and location. In our numberline lessons students placed numbers on a number line showing the correct position.

Sounds Write
This term we have been writing our lowercase and uppercase letters, writing full sentences, spelling high frequency words and learning more letter sounds.
'FIZZICS' Big Fun Science Show Incursion
Last Friday we had the amazing 'Fizzics' Science show. It got off to to a great start with a huge BANG! The students were mesmerised by the experiments conducted by the "mad Scientist" who created experiments involving fire, bubbles, toilet paper and a blower, chemical reactions, air pressure, liquid nitrogen and more! The excitement on their faces showed it all!

We can swing across the BIG monkey bars now and do lots of front and back flips!
