Our school community came together for a special fundraising day in support of Guide Dogs NSW, raising over $1650! The morning was filled with excitement as students were warmly welcomed by some very special furry guests, the guide dogs! With lots of cuddles, happy faces, and plenty of photos, it was a truly heart warming way to start the day. A special thanks to Ric and the other guide dog handlers for making this memorable event possible!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this event such a success. We’re proud to support this worthy cause and look forward to contributing even more in the future! 🐶💛
Donations are still being accepted via the official Guide Dog platform. Please click the link below if you wish to contribute to this wonderful organisation.

This year marks the 15th year of the annual Write On competition. The theme for this year was 'Could They Be Changing?'. On Monday 22 September, Richelle from Solar 2 attended the Write On awards ceremony for her imaginative writing piece titled 'Rainlight'. Out of more than 600 entries across NSW, Richelle's piece was one of six to receive a Gold award for Stage 3.
On the day, students also were given a tour of the State Library and attended a writing workshop run by Nathan Luff.
Richelle stated that she was proud of her descriptions and the double meaning that the weather held in her story.
Chatswood Public School is very proud of Richelle and her incredible achievement.

This year, we are excited to celebrate two beautiful cultural festivals together: the Chinese Moon Festival and Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights. Though rooted in different traditions, both festivals honour the moon, light, family, and the power of coming together as a community.
Our celebration, themed "Under the Same Moon, We Share the Light," will be a wonderful opportunity for students and families to learn about, appreciate, and celebrate the richness of our shared values through different cultures.
We invite all students to design and make their own lanterns using different colours, shapes, and materials. Be creative and try to use recycled or reused materials to help care for our planet! Your lantern will be part of a glowing display to celebrate the Moon Festival and Diwali.
Let your imagination shine bright!
Who can participate: Everyone is invited to take part in this DIY Lantern Challenge.
Where to submit your lantern: the School Hall.
When to hand in your lantern: Between 8:30am and 9:00am on Monday, 20 October (Week 2, Term 4).
Lantern Gallery Open Day
Our school community is invited to visit the Lantern Gallery and participate in a variety of cultural activities on Wednesday, 22 October from 2:30pm to 3:30pm in the School Hall.
On Monday 15 September, three student ambassadors from the International Student Ambassador Program (ISAP) visited Chatswood Public School. They shared stories about their careers and the achievements they had made on their journeys.
I learned that if I work hard, I could have an interesting job and career. The best part of the visit was speaking in our own language because it feels nice to talk to someone in your native language when you are in a completely different country.

Something I learned from the ambassadors is:
They told us to study hard and shared the experiences they had and the awards they obtained.
The best thing about the visit was:
There were two things that I think were the best.We asked a few questions about their experiences. We wrote a letter to ourselves to read in 20 years.
Is there anything else you would like to say about the visit?
I hope these visits can happen more often. They are very helpful for students’ learning.
