St Mary’s Colour Run & Sportsathon – A Huge Success!

 Event Overview

A very big thank you to all students, staff, and families who supported St Mary’s Colour Run and Sportsathon on Monday!

After a very wet weekend, students enjoyed a variety of fun sports events on school grounds, including the wheelbarrow race, sack race, tug of war, and more. Despite a cold and windy start, the sun was shining by lunchtime as our excited students arrived at Walter Street Oval for the much-anticipated Colour Run.

 Highlights of the Day

The photos speak for themselves—so many smiling faces, drenched in colour and joy! Congratulations to our Best and Fairest winners for reflecting St Mary's values on the day.  The energy and enthusiasm were contagious, making it a really memorable day for everyone involved.

 Fundraising Success

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the St Mary’s community, we raised an outstanding $38,150.49 towards resurfacing our basketball courts. This contribution will have a lasting impact on our school facilities for years to come.

Acknowledgements

Thank you to the many parents who helped on the day. Special thanks to Eamon Murphy, Olivia Hodgetts, and Gen Trevaskis for their behind-the-scenes work in ensuring a safe and enjoyable event.  Hats off to the brave teachers who faced the slime buckets fearlessly!  We’re also grateful to The Happy Apple for generously providing oranges for all children on the day and to Jayson Watts as Chase the Cheetah!

Fundraising Idea

It was great to hear about students, Maya Harman and Olivia Tran, who collectively raised $82.80 for fundraising as part of the Colour Run by thinking outside of the square.

They setup a stand and sold biscuits and homemade lemonade. A very impressive setup and completely their own idea.
