Dear Families,
Tennis Courts Update:
Construction work on the tennis courts has commenced. As communicated earlier this week via email, there will be some adjustments to our usual drop-off and pick-up procedures regarding the Bury St gate. I want to commend our bus children for their excellent behavior, walking from the bus to the front gate both mornings and afternoons. We have addded an additional teacher to oversee this. We anticipate the courts will be ready for use again in approximately three weeks.
Foundation 2025 Enrollment:
We are pleased to report strong enrollment numbers for Foundation 2025 and are currently exploring various options to accommodate these numbers. Currently, the leading solution under consideration is the placement of a portable building adjacent to the existing Year 5-6 classroom. We are actively evaluating the logistics of this option and will keep you updated.
Next year, we will have two Foundation grades, which will provide a nurturing start to school life with smaller class sizes. If you have yet to enroll a sibling or know of friends or family seeking schooling for next year, please inform them about St John's, as we still have available spaces.
School Review Reminder:
As mentioned in last week's newsletter, our School Review will take place in week 4 on August 6th, 7th, and 8th. We encourage parent participation as your input is invaluable to us. The Reviewers have set aside Tuesday, August 6th at 2:45 pm for a chat, conveniently coinciding with pickup time to accommodate parents. They have allocated approximately 30 minutes per session but are flexible with any time you can spare. Please contact Bek in the office to confirm your availability. Refreshments will be provided!
Principal Appraisal:
Thank you to the families who have already completed the survey for my upcoming Principal Appraisal at the end of this term. We will resend the survey link on Friday for those who still wish to contribute. Your feedback is crucial and greatly appreciated.
100 Days of Foundation Celebration:
Our Foundation students eagerly await this Friday as they celebrate their 100th day at school. They have been thriving and enjoying every aspect of school life. The day will include Mass at 12:30 pm in the Church alongside their Buddies, followed by a special lunch treat. While I regret not being able to join them due to a Critical Incident Training meeting in Shepparton, you are all invited to share in this memorable day with them. They are so EXCITED! I know they will embrace Day 101 and every day to follow with enthusiasm, excitement and energy.
Until next fortnight
Therese
