Year 9 Wellbeing Days
On the Year 9 Wellbeing Day, my group went to the RSPCA Education Centre in Burwood. When we arrived, we met the RSPCA workers who would be teaching and guiding us throughout the day. For the first activity, my group went outside and met some of the farm animals. We fed chickens and petted sheep. Next, we visited the adoption centre where we saw rescue dogs, puppies, kittens and cats. For the third activity, we learned about egg farms and how chickens are kept, learning about why it's wrong and right. As a special surprise at the end, we got to meet a rescue dog named Lexi, and heard about her story. Overall, this day taught me about animal cruelty and what they do to ensure animals safety.

I went to the Big Issue City Search for the Year 9 Wellbeing Day excursion. It was a fun experience; my group walked around Melbourne and attended a presentation about homelessness in the city. We learned about The Big Issue, an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and creating work opportunities for people experiencing homelessness, marginalisation, and disadvantage. It was great to learn about different people’s experiences and perspectives, while facing homelessness or disadvantage. Afterwards, we had free time in the city to have lunch and explore. It was an awesome Wellbeing Day.
