Picture Story Books
Our whole school has been writing, illustrating and publishing picture story books! In Grades 5/6 we have been writing narrative non-fiction books about land, sea and air animals using our writer's craft. We have included descriptive and emotive language to entertain and inform you about these animals. Now we are illustrating them before our teachers scan, print and publish them into real books! We can't wait to share them with you as we have worked very hard and are super proud of them.
Campaspe Netball Tournament
Girls Team
On Friday, 31st of May, three netball teams went over to EDNA to represent Tongala Primary School at the Campaspe Netball Tournament. We had an A grade girls team, a Grade 6 mixed team and a Grade 5 mixed team. Our girls team was made up of Ruby, Ella, Ivy, Mia, Bella, Summer, Asha and Tilly. We all were so good. Here is how it went… We played lots of games and won most of them. We played Echuca 208 twice and Kyabram P12. We made it to finals against Moama and won too. We went onto the grand final. In this game all of the pressure was on us to win. Everyone from TPS were on the sidelines cheering very loud, so were the 208 people. The siren went and we shook everyone's hands but unfortunately we had lost. We played so well but just not good enough. They were a great side and although we were sad that we lost, we were still happy for them. Coach Meg said, ‘I'm so proud of how the girls represented TPS on the day. They were a pleasure to coach.’

Grade 5 Mixed
On the 31st of May, we competed in the Campaspe Netball Tournament. TPS sent three teams to represent our school. My team was the Grade 5 mixed team. We had Mrs Holyman as our coach and she did an amazing job! The people on my team were Ava, Tahlia, Tippi, Imogen, Ollie, Aiden, Billy and Jonty. We did an awesome job. We won one, lost two and drew 4 games. For the game that we won, the scores were 10-0. It was a really good game. Tahlia shot 9 of the goals we got! I played WA and C for that game and most of the other games. I played for the rest of the day.

Grade 6 Mixed
On Friday, 31st of May, we participated in the Campaspe Netball Tournament hosted at the Echuca netball courts. The Grade 6 mixed team was made up of Ashlee, Amber, Winter, Kane, Lucas, Ace, Noah M, Amelia and Hannah. Our coach was Brett who led us to having an amazing day. We played seven games, 14 halves. We won five games and lost two. Even though we didn't win the day, we still had a fun and were full of encouragement. I personally really enjoyed having this amazing and inclusive experience where I met new people and played alongside them and we wouldn't be able to do all that without our coach Brett and our amazing team. At the end of the day we were all tired and enjoyed our day out.

5/6 General News and Reminders
We are running low on grey leads, glue sticks and scissors in our classrooms. We would really appreciate if students could bring in some more of these supplies if they don't have them.
Please encourage your student to wear school uniform, including their school jumpers as the Grade 5/6 students are the leaders of our school and set an example for the rest of the school. We discourage footy shorts and casual jumpers.
