Two tribes coming together

As part of our ongoing commitment to Reconciliation, ‘Red Dirt’ pilgrims from both St Pius X and Christian Brothers Lewisham gathered for their Pre-Immersion Formation on Wednesday at Oxford Falls. Students engaged in cultural awareness training, prayed together, reflected together, shared together in yarning circles and commenced their progressive immersion artwork that will form a visual track of their journey not only physically, but culturally, emotionally and spiritually during the immersion on country.

The two hands artwork titled ‘Tribes coming together’ painted by Ross Smith in 2017, is representative of the Lewisham and St Pius X communities forging an ongoing bond of fraternity and moving forward as one mob.

Deep gratitude to Mr Di Sano and Mrs Soulos for facilitating the afternoon.

The Feast Day of St Anthony of Padua will be celebrated with a bilingual Mass at 10:30 am this Sunday 16 June, at Our Lady of Dolours Chatswood. This Mass will be celebrated in both English and Italian. It will be a special celebration of the Italian heritage in our community. There will be an Italian celebration in the forecourt following Mass.

Please join us to celebrate this wonderful occasion. In order to discern numbers as a contingent from St Pius X, please complete the RSVP below. Family, extended family and friends are most welcome as we celebrate being part of such a vibrant parish community.

1 Peter 4:10 Winter Appeal - Assistance Needed

As the season of winter has truly made its presence known this week, we are surrounded by tangible reminders of the hardships faced by those who do not have food security or stable shelter. As a family of faith, we have the opportunity to alleviate this burden by contributing generously to the 1 Peter 4:10 Winter Appeal, that seeks to support St Vincent de Paul and Jesuit Refugee Services. All donations will be collected homeroom, with donations being coordinated in the College Foyer. Thank you in advance for your generosity:

Year of Prayer - Meditations by Fr David Ranson

‘Prayer as desire’: An exquisitely beautiful exploration of Christian prayer and the human experience as we navigate ‘the undertow of restlessness’ that seeks for our alternative homeland.

This incredible meditation is the first in the series created by Fr David Ranson, Vicar General for the Diocese of Broken Bay. A prophetic insight into plumbing the depths of our ultimate yearnings and our self giving God who equally yearns for our embrace. Thank you Fr David!

This meditation is particularly effective if listened to in the car as a podcast mediation or viewed with its accompanying imagery and text.

St Pius X and Mercy College Youth Mass this Sunday

This Sunday we will be celebrating our second St Pius X and Mercy College Youth Mass at 5:30 pm at Our Lady of Dolours Parish in Chatswood. The celebration will be followed by pizza for students from both colleges.

It is an energising opportunity to celebrate faith, friendship and food. If you are in need of an ‘inner recharge’, this moving experience will regenerate your spirit. Please join us. All are welcome.

As we journey forward as a family of faith, may we remember to equally champion being a family of action, particularly in the midst of winter.

Every Blessing,

Mr Daniel Petrie - Assistant Principal, Mission and Identity
