Kinder & Year 1
Our K/1 students have been busy learning and growing in all areas! It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and progress over the weeks.
Literacy
K/1 students are making fantastic progress in their reading and writing! They are becoming more confident in using the sounds they've learned and are tackling tricky words with growing ease. Year One students are particularly showing great improvement in independently crafting and writing their own sentences, marking an important milestone in their literacy journey.
Numeracy
In Maths, our students are gaining a solid understanding of place value. They are learning what numbers really mean by exploring hundreds, tens, and ones. This foundational skill is helping them become more confident in working with numbers.
Over the last three weeks, K/1 have enjoyed participating in 'The Potato Olympics.' Each student decorated their own potato and competed in various events to earn points. Throughout the activities, they practiced mathematical skills such as measuring and counting, all while having lots of fun and demonstrating great sportsmanship. It’s been an exciting and educational experience for everyone!
In addition to our academic focus, the K/1 students have been participating in a variety of activities that keep them active and engaged. They've been enjoying playing ball games outside, participating in show and tell, and expressing their creativity through painting and building activities. These experiences have not only been fun but also helped the students develop important social and motor skills.
