Head of Secondary Years' Report

Dear Secondary Years Families,

The cooler weather is certainly upon us and this is a good time to remind families to ensure that students come to school each day with a warm outer layer to wear with their uniform. The blazer, woollen jumper or new style shell jacket are all suitable outer layers to wear with the academic uniform. They are also able to wear warm layers under their uniform, so long as these items are not visible.

Since our last newsletter, the Year 10 and 11 students have completed their exams, students studying a Unit 3 or Unit 4 VCE subject have completed the GAT, our production team attended the production camp, the Year 10 students attended the Pathways Expo and our Year 9 students enjoyed a wonderful day at city experience visiting Artvo. The details of some of these experiences are shared in the celebrations of learning and community section of this newsletter.

Our College community was devastated by the sad news of the passing of one of our year 9 students last week. This is a very challenging time for many members of our college community. In times of hardship, we rally together to support each other. Our teachers and wellbeing staff have been providing extra support to our students at this difficult time. We remind families to please contact the relevant year level team or refer to the resources in the key contacts sections of this newsletter if your child needs some extra support at this time.

This is our last Secondary Newsletter for this term, we hope that you enjoy the holidays with your children and stay warm. Remember that the first day of Term 3 for students is Tuesday the 16th of July. We look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 3!
