Stage 2 News
What an amazing term of learning we have had in Stage 2!
We are well into our new English unit and have had a great time studying the text, Piano Fingers. This beautiful picture book is written by Caroline Magerl and follows the story of Isla and Bea, two sisters who share a love of music. Big sister Isla plays the violin and Bea is waiting for her music to start. With the help of Maestro Gus, the cat ghost of the piano, Bea will make her sparkling debut. Stage 2 have done a fantastic job learning about poetic devices such as onomatopoeia, similes, metaphors, and personification, and using it in their own writing.
In Maths this term, we learned about the features of 3D objects. Students worked hard to describe a range of objects using language such as vertices, edges, faces, apex, and curved edges. They also created their own 3D objects using objects from nature. Check it out!
In PE Years 3-6 have been working hard getting ready for the Athletics Carnival next term, practising their discus, shotput, high jump, and long jump skills.
Wishing you all a fabulous week. Stay warm!
