From the 3/4 Classrooms

In light of the Paris 2024 Olympics coming up in July, this term, year 3/4 students have been exploring the history of the Olympics and uncovering the significance of these international sporting events. Students have then presented their findings in their display folders, along with a poster or brochure with their in-depth investigation of one country’s participation in an Olympic Games.

Classrooms have been decorated with these colourful banners, each with a different country that has been an Olympic Games host. These contain facts such as: the number of participating nations and athletes, number of events, and how Australia performed at each of these Olympics.

Students also chose a sport they wanted to learn more about, and they explored the different equipment and rules required to compete in these sports. They also investigated the history of these sports as well as any famous athletes that competed in these sports, along with any interesting facts that they found.

Finally, students have spent the last two weeks researching a country and investigating the country’s participation in an Olympic Games of their choice.

We hope you enjoyed seeing their display of knowledge at our expo to get us ready and excited to watch the upcoming Olympic Games!
