Embracing Coreading: Building Bonds Across Grades

In Grade 5 last week, we had the wonderful experience of sharing our love of reading with the Foundation students by doing some coreading.

Coreading, where older students read with younger ones, has proven to be a powerful tool for fostering a love of reading, building confidence, and nurturing positive relationships.

Our Grade 5 students took on the role of reading buddies for our Foundation students, creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student felt valued and included.

Coreading sessions are a source of excitement and joy for  both groups of students, helping everyone to improve their reading skills as well as instilling a lifelong love for books and learning from an early age. Furthermore, it was a truly heartwarming example of collaboration and kindness within our school community.

Let's continue to celebrate the power of coreading at home too. Take the time to read with your child, share stories, and encourage a love for reading that will last a lifetime.
