*BPPS Term 3 FRENCH POETRY COMPETITION

In Term 3, BPPS students will be working on the challenge of a French Poetry Recitation competition. Students from Foundation to Grade 6 will be given a poem, suited to their level, to memorise and present to their classmates towards the end of the term. After their presentation, fellow students will mark their peers following selected criteria. The first placegetters from each class will compete against other first placegetters and an overall winner will be chosen for each level. The finals will be held in the last couple of weeks of Term 3. Students must be present in those weeks to compete in the finals and if they are absent second or third placegetters may compete in their stead. Judging teachers’ decisions are final. Winners will receive CL&S awards and French prizes which will be presented in Term 4.

The in-house poetry competition has been running for a few years now and its purpose is to encourage students to hone confidence, application and oral presentation skills in preparation for high school, work and life in general.
