The Giant Pumpkin Shared Lunch
Yesterday was the day, the whole school enjoyed dishes we made from the giant Musquee de Provence pumpkin.
As it was the 4/5/6JC cooking day they did an amazing job, preparing, and cooking and reheating the dishes and setting up for the two sessions.
At recess, Grade 2/3 and 4/5/6H enjoyed Australian Pumpkin soup (made by 4/5/6H last week), Pumpkin and Tomato soup and Pumpkin and Cheese Scones.
Grade 4/5/6JC then cleaned up and started all over again to cook and prepare the dishes for lunch. Grade P/1 joined them at lunchtime to share Thai Coconut Pumpkin Soup, Australian Pumpkin Soup (made by 4/5/6H) and Pumpkin and Tomato Soup with Pumpkin and Cheese Scones and Pumpkin Scones (GF, V and Fat free). All the dishes were delicious and there was not a crumb left from the 100 Pumpkin and Cheese scones they cooked. Even students who thought they didn’t like pumpkin tried the soup and scones and realised they did like it. In previous cooking classes grades P/1 and 2/3 cut up and cooked the tomatoes for the Tomato Passata we used in the Pumpkin and Tomato Soup and the Thai Pumpkin and Coconut soup.
Thanks to all the students and staff and parents who helped made the day a great success.
It was a fantastic end to a great term of growing, preparing and cooking this term.
The recipes for all the dishes we cooked are attached for you to try at home.
