MCK CHESS CLUB
McK Chess Grand Prix tournament 2024
Phase 1 of the 2024 McK Chess GP tournament concluded last week with 22 students from the East Campus and 23 students from McKinnon Rd qualified to play in the second phase, starting in Term 2. We thank all participants who participated so far and wish all remaining players all the best as they enter the final phase of the competition.
Top few players from the GP tournament will gain an automatic entry to the prestigious McK Chess Championship in Term 3. There are also different award categories honoring our talented chess players in this tournament. To follow the competition please visit the official 2024 McK Chess GP website.
Social Chess session
For those who want to just have fun or learn how to play chess, social chess sessions are on every Tuesday lunchtime at both the McK Road Campus (room A07/A08) and at the East Campus (room V2.6). McK Chess Club is totally free for everyone and no signup is required. Simply show up and play!
McK Chess Rating (Mar 2023 update)
All students who have played in any tournament organized by the McK Chess Club in the past will be in the McK Chess Rating database. Rating is used for competition seeding, school team’s selection, as well as determining player’s titles.
As of March 2024, our top 5 players at McKinnon are:
