i Sea, i Care Program: snorkelling at Ricketts Point
On Thursday the 7th of March, eight of our students attended our first Victorian Marine Ambassadors program workshop at Ricketts Point Beach. As part of the i Sea, i Care Victorian Marine Ambassadors program, our four Grade 6 Environmental Leaders and four Grade 5 students participated in our first beach workshop for the year.
The “i Sea, i Care” School Ambassadors Program provides leadership opportunities for eight of our students in Grade 5 and Grade 6. This is St Simon’s second year in this program.
The students selected this year are our four Environmental Leaders who are Conor Nyholm, Caleb Bartlett, Shanisse Mathes and Milla Eugenio, as well as four Grade 5 students Kyan Stone, Coran Beatty, Sophie Kavanagh and Audrey Dawson. The School Ambassadors Program at St Simon’s is supported and organised by Miss Do, Miss Felsinger, Mrs Solari and Mrs Rayner.
Thursday was a great success, it was wonderful to see our eight students step outside their comfort zone and snorkel at Ricketts Point Beach. We look forward to learning more about our beautiful ocean creatures and exploring it first hand. At our next assembly we look forward to sharing our experiences with you.
