PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Thank you to Sawyers Arms and Two Noble for their contribution to the Fair this year and being a Platinum sponsor.

Sawyers Arms Tavern & Two Noble Restaurant are located at 2 Noble Street, Newtown. Offering great gastropub food downstairs and Asian fusion at Two Noble upstairs, it's a perfect location to share a meal with family and friends. The venue is also award winning with Sawyers Arms being voted one of the best hotel dining venues from the AHA, and Two Noble in its first 6 months being awarded a hat by AGFG.

For Chilwell parents and friends we’d like to extend some great offers -

- $2.50 Oysters on Sunday between 3pm -5pm till sold out at Sawyers Arms (both natural and Kilpatrick available)

- 20% off the bill for midweek dining at Two Noble when booking a table of 6 or more till end of April.  Excludes public holiday.

Under three weeks to go until Chilwell Fair, and we are excited.

On Monday information was sent home in regard to how you can support the Fair this year.

Please check your eldest child’s bag for an important envelope if not located already.

We encourage you to place the checklist on your family fridge in order to check off important tasks to be completed.

Staff are looking forward to working with Kylie Power tomorrow afternoon around the VIA (Values in Action) Character Strength Survey and how we display particular character traits to support us in our every day lives.  All staff have undertaken this survey, and we are unpacking our own individual data and what these strengths mean when working in a staffing group and how our different strengths compliment our impact as a team and within the classroom. The Character Traits are classified under 6 banners: Wisdom, Courage, Humanity, Justice, Temperance, and Transcendence.

Traits that were identified high on my list after completing the survey were Kindness, Honesty, and Teamwork, along with Sarah’s being, Love of Learning, Social Intelligence and Kindness. We are looking forward to strengthening other traits that appeared down our list.

Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students are undertaking this survey as well and we look forward to them being able to talk to their key character strengths and how this supports them in their learning and as a member of their cohort. The students will also display their top traits. This is a great visual and key for students to draw upon other’s strengths when working with them on a task or how they contribute to a friendship group.

Some quotes were printed and placed on various walls over the holidays.  Look out for them when you are visiting learning spaces around the school.  Simple yet effective and a little bit of motivation for us all.

Kind regards,

Meg
