Respectful Relationships
Our Lady's Primary School has recently joined the government inititive, Respectful Relationships.
The Respectful Relationships program supports schools and early childhood settings to promote and model respect, positive attitudes and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.
As part of our commitment to Respectful Relationships, the students at Our Lady's Primary School participate in learning around Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships. We do this to promote safe, healthy relationships and to empower the students at our school.
The primary prevention of family violence
Developing Respectful Relationships within our community is one of the most powerful ways we can help in the battle of family violence.
Contributing factors to family violence include;
- a lack of gender equality
- cultural norms around violence
- lack of systems to support
Our Lady's Primary School is here to support;
- equal relationships between everyone (boys, girls, men & women)
- non-violence
- referrals to organisations for further support
