Student Leadership

Dear Saltwater Community,

Welcome to Term 3,  we hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break with your loved ones. It has been wonderful to see the smiles, energy, and excitement as students returned to school, ready to embrace the new term ahead.

This term promises to be a busy and exciting one, filled with meaningful learning opportunities, engaging events, and community celebrations. From Book Week and House Competitions,  student-led initiatives and  lunch time clubs, there is so much to look forward to.

Book Week is Coming! Let the Magic Begin!

Excitement is building as Book Week approaches, and this year promises to be one to remember! This week, our Junior School Council (JSC) student leaders sat down with Ms Turner to share their ideas and vision for Book Week 2025. As the voice of their year levels, they spoke passionately about creating an inclusive and engaging experience for all students.

With great enthusiasm, the JSC shared a range of creative and fun activities they would love to see, from dress-up parades and buddy reading sessions, to book-themed competitions and lunchtime storytelling. Their ideas reflected our shared love for reading and the magic of storytelling.

Thanks to our student leaders' input, we are working together to bring these ideas to life. Book Week will be a celebration of imagination, creativity, and community, and we can’t wait to share the final line-up of events soon!

Stay tuned for more details, and start planning your favourite book character costume!

Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee – House Challenge!

We’re excited to launch the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee as our next House competition for students in Year 3 to Year 6. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves, grow their vocabulary, and earn House points. Every student who enters will automatically earn 1 point for their House, and the more entries, the stronger your House becomes!

We encourage everyone to give it a go and show off their spelling skills.  https://www.spelling-bee.com.au/play/?try-the-bee

As a student leadership team, we remain committed to working in partnership with our families to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to do their best.

Thank you for your ongoing support, involvement, and encouragement, it truly makes a difference.

Here’s to a successful and memorable Term 3!

Thank you,

Student Leadership
