Mano Hockey Teams Hit the Field!

Late in Term 2, our Mano girls’ and boys’ hockey teams had an awesome day out at the North Geelong Hockey Championships—and wow, did they do us proud!

Most of our students had never played hockey before, but that didn’t stop them from giving it a red-hot go. With the support of a few expert players on each team, everyone jumped in, tried something new, and gave it their best shot. The effort, enthusiasm, and teamwork on display were fantastic.

It was awesome to have 2 girl teams participating as ‘Mano’ had never had a hockey girls team, so hopefully we can continue this in 2026 as well!

A shoutout to our boys’ A team, who made it all the way to the grand final! They played an absolute nail-biter against Fyans Park, going down by just one goal. It was such a close match, and the boys showed awesome determination right to the end.

The day had Geelong Hockey players supporting the kids, who are always keen to welcome new players. If your child had fun or is interested in giving hockey another go, check out Geelong Hockey for info on junior programs.

And finally, a huge thank you to the parents and staff who came out to support the students, help coach, and cheer from the sidelines. Without your help, the day wouldn’t have been possible, and ‘Mano’ is so grateful for your time!
