Instrumental Music Program
The TPS Instrumental Music Program offers students an extra-curricular experience where students have the fantastic opportunity to learn and play a musical instrument of their choice guided by an expert/professional on their instrument/s.
If you would like to sign up for the Instrumental music program, all our 4 teachers have vacancies. Simply pick up a form from outside the music room or the Administration Office and return it so we can assign you with an instrumental teacher and get started with one-on-one music lessons.
For more information about the TPS Instrumental program take this link - Instrumental music page - TPS music website.
Song of the Year
In Terms 2 and 3, all music classes are starting each lesson by listening and interacting with 2 songs and then voting for one of the songs. We start with 16 songs. The teachers and school staff also get a vote. The songs are the school’s bell music and songs are removed from the bell music when they lose.
We will eliminate songs until a winner is chosen. We are down to the finals. The theme for this year’s vote is Music styles.
Here is the chart that will update each week -

On the 23rd to the 25th July all the Grade 3/4’s went to Phillip Island Camp. We all had fun!
First, I went on the Giant Swing. I went up really high to the top and it was so fun! Then, we went to the Penguin Parade and we saw some penguins coming in from the beach. Finally, I went on a beach walk and built a sandcastle. The food at camp was really good. I had the best time at Phillip Island camp.

All the grade 3/4s went to camp at Phillip Island. We went for 2 nights.
First, I thought I definitely wouldn’t go on the Giant Swing because I was a bit scared of heights. So I had to pull the rope to pull the person who was in the harness up, until the lady said stop. Eventually, I thought it would be so much fun, so I decided to go on the Giant Swing. It WAS fun but also a bit scary!

On Wednesday, I went to Cowes Camp at Phillip Island. I was super excited. We all got on the bus and left Traf. Our first stop was San Remo, where we ate snack at the park. We saw a big pelican fly over us! We left San Remo and went over a bridge to Phillip Island.
I was lucky because I got in a cabin with all my friends, we all screamed and ran around like maniacs. We finally got to our cabins and put our stuff away.
Then, we did the first activity which was the Pinnacle. If you got to the top of the Pinnacle you got to see a surprise on the roof and I went high enough to see the surprise on the roof!
After that, we had dinner. It was the best, we had spaghetti!
After that we got into some very warm clothes, we all grabbed our scarves and beanies. Then we went to the Fairy Penguin Parade. We saw heaps of little penguins waddling up on the beach. They were adorable. Sadly, we had to leave because it was bucketing down with rain. We could barely see each other on the boardwalk. Luckily Jase brought his torch, so Miss Waters held it up so we could see.
We got back to camp and it was time to sleep. My cabin was probably the last one to get to sleep. I was awake for so long!
I had a great first day and I am so excited to go to camp again next year!

I was literally so excited to go to Cowes Camp in Phillip Island. It was so much fun because I got to play with my friends, do really fun activities, and go on the trampoline.
My favourite activity was the Giant Swing.
First, the instructor said to pull the rope after she had buckled up the person whose turn it was. We all had to pull the rope and this pulled up the person in the harness. The first couple of people went all the way up to the top! Then, it was my turn and I went all the way to the top too. My heart sank when I pulled the rope and swung high in the sky.
After that, Grayson's dad had a turn, the instructor and Darcy's dad had to help pull on the rope to lift him up! He was hanging upside down and had his hands out. It was cool and fun to watch him.
Even though I was scared at most of the activities I had heaps of fun, and I had a great time with my friends.

Between Wednesday 23rd and Friday 25th July 2025, the year 3/4’s went to Phillip island. We stayed at CYC the Island and participated in loads of great outdoor education experiences.
When we got to camp, we got some free time. Then we got to go to our cabins and set up. Then we went to have dinner, it was spaghetti bolognese.
After dinner, we got on the bus to go to the penguins, it was so cold. When we got home from the penguins, we had showers and dessert. Then it was bedtime, luckily I was in a cabin with my friends. My friend Peyton saved me a single bed that wasn't a bunk bed.
My favourite activity was The Giant Swing because you could see the ocean when you got to the top. When you got to swing down it felt like you were flying. I had the best time at camp!

Between Wednesday 23rd and Friday 25th of July, the year 3/4’s went to Phillip Island for our school camp. We stayed at CYC The Island and participated in great outdoor educational experiences.
First, we had the bus trip, where I read my book for a little bit and Bryce told some jokes.
Then, we went to the penguins and I saw two penguins.
After that we had ice cream and chocolate pudding for dessert.
Finally, the last activity my group did was pedal carts and the fastest speed I did was 15 kilometres per hour.
At the end I felt proud of myself for doing my first ever school camp. I felt amazed that I could go 15 kilometres per hour on the pedal carts. I felt exhausted from doing so many activities.

At Cowes Camp we went to the Penguin Parade. It was super cool, and the penguins were so cute. It was also super wet and cold though. It also started to rain so we had to leave half way through.
We went on the Giant swing which was 15 metres high. It was super duper fun and I went to the middle. We also went on the flying fox which was high, and you had to climb up a lot of stairs. It was super duper fun and you went so fast.
On the way there, we stopped at San Remo playground, where we ate our food.
We also went to Amaze n Things which was so fun. At Amaze n Things we went in a giant maze and there was a slide thing where you could drop down from super high up.
We went into a whole lot of different rooms. My favourite room was the no gravity room.
We also did pedal cars which was so fun and there was a thing that told you how fast you were going. It was so cool.
We also went on a beach walk and built sand castles. I found some shells but they were only small shells.
During free time, we could go on trampolines and it was so fun because they were so bouncy.
We went on the Pinnacle which was 2 metres high. I went all the way to the top on the second easiest and the easiest side.
We stayed at CYC and the cabins were amazing. I also really liked the food there. My favourite was dessert. It was amazing.
On the way there, we went to The Nobbies where we did a walk and finished our food.
We also went to a place that had koalas. We saw so many koalas there and it was so fun.
We went to the gift shop at CYC and it had so many fun things.
In total, I got 5 things which was a water timer, a water cube, a penguin key chain which lights up and makes sounds and a blue pen.
The cabins there were so good and fancy!

On an exciting day the grade 3/4s were going to Phillip Island. Our first stop was at San Remo where we were greeted by annoying pelicans. We also had our snack at San Remo. Later we stopped at a place where we went on a walk next to the ocean.
Once we got to our camp we got set up and had a 4pm dinner. After we had dinner we went to the penguin parade. All the penguins started to come out of the water. Eventually we had to leave because the rain was pouring hard.
The next morning, we got dressed and went into the meeting room to play games. For breakfast we had cereal and toast. After we did the activities like the giant swing, flying fox, pedal cars, and Amaze n Things. It was a really fun day!

On Friday, July 25th, Foundation students celebrated their 100th day of school milestone by dressing up, including several students who dressed like they were 100 years old. The day started with some learning activities around the number 100. Next, students enjoyed a visit from their buddies where they worked together to make 100 days of school crowns. Following this, students had fun playing some party games before enjoying a delicious party food lunch. Thank you to all the parents who helped contribute to making this day a success.
Well done all Foundation students! You have made it to 100 days of learning, growing and achieving together. Your teachers are very proud of you!
Students were introduced to our TPS weather station in Week 1 which will be installed very soon, thanks to Mr Hall. We also practiced our observing and describing skills with an activity where one student described a picture to another student who drew what they said then compared the results.
In Week 2 prep to grade 1 students focused on weather and the four seasons through stories, artwork and games.
Grade 3 and 4 students attempted to answer the question: How amazing is water?
Discovering some of the awesome and wonderful things water can do and what we can do with water. Considering it covers approximately 71% of the Earth's surface and we can’t live without it, it’s essential to understand more about the precious resource and what it is capable of.

It has been wonderful to welcome students and families back to Breakfast Club this term! We have had so many students visit us in the mornings for delicious toasties, cereals and hot milos to help kick start their learning day. We are so thankful for the many generous food donations provided by the community and from our sponsors - Foodbank, IGA Trafalgar, Bakers Delight Mid Valley and Gracie’s Bakery.
Due to these donations, Breakfast Club continues to be able to support families through the provision of Care Packages. We remind families that our Traf Pantry can be found in the Gym Foyer and continues to be stocked with many excellent products, available to anyone - and they’re free! If you would like to receive a Care Package or know of a family who may benefit, feel free to drop into our School Office, or see Mrs Marslen.
Donations of Jam and Milo needed, please!
Thank you again to all families who have generously donated tins of Milo to our Breakfast Club. Any extra donations of Milo, as well as jam would be greatly appreciated to support our school community!
Looking forward to seeing you for brekky!
