Dear Families,
Thank you to those who took the time last week to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss their school report and progress so far this year. Your involvement makes a significant difference to your child’s learning. Teachers have noticed that a number of families have not yet accessed their child’s report from the end of last term. If you require assistance to access it, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
A reminder that Wednesday is a pupil-free day. Our staff will be participating in the first Diocesan Spirituality Day, working with Catholic Education Sandhurst alongside all other teachers in the Diocese.
We extend our thanks to our outgoing SRC for their wonderful contributions over the past semester. One of their lasting legacies is the creation of the Downball Rules sign, developed after consulting with grades to help reduce disputes during games. These rules are now displayed in the Quad and have already made playground time smoother for everyone. As a gesture of thanks, the SRC enjoyed a hot chocolate with Miss Ally at The Nest yesterday.
Book Week is here! Excitement is building for our parade this Friday. Families are warmly invited to join us for the parade and then visit your child’s classroom for Book Week activities afterwards. Today the children had the opportunity to participate in some live theatre through the performance 'Treasure Hunt' by Perform Education, the performance focused on three of the shortlisted books. The performance was engaging and had the children dancing and participating enthusiastically.
Our Father’s Day Breakfast is fast approaching—Friday 5th September from 7:00am, with delicious bacon and egg rolls to share. RSVP information will be sent via PAM next week so we can cater for everyone. There is no charge for this event.
We are proud and thankful for our dedicated group of student gardeners who give up many lunchtimes to improve the garden. They have relocated the garden beds for better sunlight, cleared the space, and even tackled (unsuccessfully, but with great determination!) the removal of a large stump. They have also been busy filling in holes on the oval to make it safer for all. Their efforts are greatly appreciated, and yesterday they enjoyed some well-deserved hot chips as thanks for their hard work.
At St John’s, we value the ongoing support of our families in meeting school fee commitments, which enable us to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our students. If you haven’t yet finalised your fees, we kindly ask that you do so at your earliest convenience. Families on payment plans do not need to take any action. If you are experiencing financial challenges or would like to discuss your situation, please contact me for a confidential conversation.
A reminder that families holding a current Health Care Card are eligible for a flat fee of $520 per year when payment is made via Direct Debit.
The new back fence is up and looks great! The front fence is to follow.
Until next fortnight.
