Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

NAPLAN results

NAPLAN results for Years 3 and 5 can be found through your PAM account under Student profile ‘NAPLAN’. These results provide a snapshot of your child’s progress in literacy and numeracy, measured against national benchmarks. While NAPLAN is a useful tool, it is just one part of the broader picture of your child’s learning journey.

Student achievement is reported using proficiency standards for each assessment area and year level. The four proficiency levels are:

  • Exceeding – Achievement goes beyond expectations
  • Strong – Meeting high but reasonable expectations
  • Developing – Progressing towards expectations
  • Needs Additional Support – Below expectations and likely to need further support

At Sacred Heart, we utilise NAPLAN results in conjunction with our regular classroom assessments to inform teaching and support each child’s individual growth.

We are especially pleased with this year’s results, which reflect the dedication of our students and staff, as well as the strong support of our families.

  • In Year 5 Numeracy, 89% of students performed at Strong or Exceeding levels, with 0% requiring additional support.
  • In Year 3 Reading, 69% of students achieved Strong or Exceeding, and only 5% were identified as needing extra support.

If you have any questions about your child’s results, please don’t hesitate to contact their classroom teacher.

Basketball Training

A friendly reminder to parents: younger siblings of students participating in basketball training on the school grounds are not supervised during these sessions, as training takes place outside of school hours. For their safety, we kindly request that a parent or guardian supervise younger children when they are on school grounds during this time. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Kind regards,

Karl Dwyer
