From our Year Five/Six Classrooms

Welcome back students!

It’s wonderful to see you all back, and we are looking forward to the new learning opportunities we’ll explore together.

This term, we’ll continue to build on the progress you've made, take on new challenges, and celebrate your growth along the way. There will be chances to work together, support one another, and try your best in everything you do.

Let’s start this term with a positive mindset, a willingness to learn, and respect for one another. We're confident it’s going to be a fantastic term full of learning, laughter, and success.

We have a few new faces in the 5/6 area. We kindly welcome Mr Rob Syme, who is in Grade 5/6C for the remainder of the year and Ms Raquel Biggar, who is in Grade 5/6D.

Hi 5/6 Meadows Families and Carers,

My name is Mr Rob Syme (Mr S / Mr Syme) and I am replacing Ms Mariam Allouche whilst she takes on her maternity leave. I will be working in 56C and have had a very welcoming and supporting start to my time at Meadows PS. I am an avid sport lover and appreciate the student's connection to soccer / football and am looking forward to utilising that for the remainder of the year. I have a time allotment out of the classroom on Fridays, and this will be a consistent occurrence for the rest of the year.

I am looking forward to supporting the students for the remainder of the year and building connections with them along the way.

My name is Ms. Biggar I am new to Meadows and looking forward to working with all families and the community. Happy for anyone to come and have a chat as I have an open door policy.

I have recently moved from The Northern Territory. I am originally from South Africa and have lived in New Zealand for many years as well. I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking.

So far in 5/6D we have had a great start to our learning and have enjoyed playing different games to get to know each other.

5/6 Camp News

Camp will be approaching fast and to ensure we all have enough time to prepare we are starting this term to get the ball rolling!

Every second year MPS has a surf camp for 5/6 students right off The Great Ocean Road.

We are asking families to pay a $50.00 deposit to the office to secure their spot. We have 75 spots for camp and over 90 students.

Later in the term , we will be having an information session with more details about the camp. But students will be enjoying 3 days at the beach and having a go at a range of activities including surfing.

If you have any questions happy for you to send me  a dojo message!
