100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!

Last Wednesday, the Foundation students celebrated their 100th day at school! It was a fantastic celebration with lots of fun, laughter and yummy treats. The students made a wonderful entry into the class dressed up as 100 year olds. Their outfits looked amazing and the students were excited to show them off.

We started our day with a fun incursion from AT Dance Studios. The students engaged in a great dance party which involved some guided practice as well as some freestyle moves. They had so much fun busting some awesome dance moves!!

Once we returned to the classroom, we made some 100 day crowns and our 100 biscuits. The students used a biscuit base, adding some frosting, a musk stick and freckles to make the number 100! They enjoyed snacking on these and found them really yummy!

After recess, we used our counting skills to share 100 gumballs into 10 gumball machines. We counted by 10 each time to get to 100!! They looked fantastic and the students enjoyed using paint to create their gumballs.

In the afternoon, our buddies came down to celebrate with us. We completed an activity with them and had so much fun. The students created an artwork that depicted what they might look like when they are 100! They were fantastic and the buddies really worked hard to add details to enhance them.

All the students also got a 100 rainbow face/hand paint! Our extremely talented LSO Ms Mal worked had to make sure every student looked colourful for our fun day!

At the end of the day, our Foundation students lead a liturgy for our buddies and families. For most, it was the first time they had spoken in front of a large audience, which was both exciting and nerve racking. They all did a fantastic job with their readings, singing and dancing.

We have had the best year thus far with our amazing Foundation students and can’t wait to continue making more memories throughout the year! Great job everyday and happy 100 days!
