🌿 School Newsletter Update – Container Deposit Scheme Now Live! ♻️
Dear Families,
We’re excited to announce that our school is now officially registered with the Container Deposit Scheme! This means we can now collect donations from container refunds. It’s been a little bit of a journey behind the scenes, with some administration time needed to get everything in place. While we first announced this program at the end of Term 1! We are now there and ready to go!
It's never been easier to get involved.
Here’s how you can help:
✅ Collect eligible drink containers drop off at school (like cans, plastic bottles, and juice boxes)
✅ Take them to your nearest Return-It depot
✅ Scan or Simply type our school’s barcode when you donate:
📦 Zone ID Barcode: C2000065901
Every container returned using our barcode means 10c donated directly to our school and that adds up quickly!
This initiative is about coming together as a school community to:
🌱 Encourage sustainability
🤝 Promote community engagement
📚 Support student-led projects and programs
As part of our wider commitment to sustainability, we’d also like to remind families about the importance of recycling right. At school, we strongly discourage the use of soft plastics, which cannot go into household recycling bins and often end up in landfill. By choosing reusable containers, reducing packaged snacks, and following Monash Council’s recycling guidelines, we are helping our students become environmentally responsible citizens and keeping our school clean and waste free.
We’ve already had a few donations roll in, and we’re so excited to watch this grow. Together, we can make a real impact.
Thank you for supporting this important initiative. Let’s see how many containers we can collect!
Warm regards
