Over the past two weeks in literacy we have been busy learning about reading environmental text such as Give Way signs, EXIT signs and of course everyone could read the big yellow arches, otherwise known as Maccas! We have also learnt about the comprehension strategies visualising and synthesising plus the sound made by ea as in beach plus long u words such as flute and fuse. Students have worked on plot mountains unpacking the beginning of fiction stories where we learn who the characters are and where, plus when the story takes place, the problems that are happening and the ending with solutions. Students absolutely loved dressing up for Book Week with some amazing costumes and texts to share with our Kinder friends. 

In Maths we have been learning about making equal groups, skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s, plus addition, subtraction and place value. 

We loved having our Dads and very special people in our lives come into our classroom on Friday. Students made morning tea for their special person, a hand made card and craft activities too. We hope all our Dads and special people have a lovely relaxing Father's Day on Sunday.

Well done to Tazmyn who was voted by her classmates to be this week's student of the week. Students said Tazmyn showed our school values all of the time and she is a good role model. Well done Tazmyn, we are super duper proud of you.
