Principal's Reports

School Council:

Welcome to Luke Tehennepe who has filled the vacancy we had on School Council. It's great to have all parent and staff positions filled. As a reminder, the following parents are on School Council:

Stacey Sheedy (School Council President), John Droppert (School Council Treasurer), Michael Nielson (School Council Vice President), Allison Watkins, Lorraine Watson, Jaala Miller, Tara Trewin and Luke Tehennepe.

At our last meeting we looked at the Student Attitudes To School Survey results and how this survey was implemented. We looked for the strengths in the data and areas where we could make improvements or investigate further with our students. The survey is completed with all grades 4 to 6 students. Below is an example of the types of questions students were asked and the results.

From this data we can see that we have very strong results for 'My teacher sets clear rules for classroom behaviour' and 'My teacher expects students to pay attention'. An area we need to focus on and investigate further with students is, 'Students at this school treat each other with respect'. This is something we will work with students to understand what is happening and how they can work towards being more respectful to each other.

School Council also looked at the NAPLAN data overview. At our next meeting we will be discussing our Attendance Data and clarifying our understanding of the Volunteers Policy.

OSH sign in and booking procedures:

Please be aware that when dropping your children off to before school care, parents and carers must walk their children in and sign them in. It is not acceptable to drop your child off in the car park and send them in on their own. This is for your child's safety.

If making a late booking, please do not assume that OSH has a position for your child. This has been a concern with after school bookings.  Unless you receive a confirmation for the booking, your child has not been accepted and you will be required to make other arrangements to collect your child at 3.30pm.

Father's Day Stall:

A huge thankyou to the team of parents who ran the Father's Day / Special Adult stall for the students. Our students loved having the opportunity to go shopping for the special adults in their lives. We hope all of our Dads enjoy their gifts.
